Swayzak is James Taylor and David 'Broon' Brown. Since their debut 12", 'Bueno', in 1997 they have epitomised the approach of Britain's industrious house producers. Reputation is established through sense and discipline not press and marketing; profile is a distant second to purpose; what you get is what you hear. Along the way they've completed three artist albums - each adding further elements to the Swayzak sound - established three record labels, and produced a variety of remix projects and collaborations. Despite rarely being regarded as DJs they are central to a thriving and exciting scene, consistently furthering house, techno and electro music.

"We thought of what we would select to play here. When we used to come in the past we tried to scare people as much as possible with the music, really challenge them. We use Traktor and it's really good. You can loop and re-edit in real time, totally the most powerful thing you can think of, DJing-wise." Swayzak

'fabric 11' does not take us on a journey, soundtrack the future or join any dots. It features a few late eighties gems, some recent standouts and a lot of current favourites. What does it feel like? Emotion-filled and exciting: house music has rarely been this innovative or engaging. Check utopian musician Matthew Herbert, Akufen's brand new beats, Luomo's seductive arrangements, James Murphy's primal screams... techno is so last century.
