Family Unit – 'Freak (House Mix)'

Family Unit comprised Kapp Ivory and Rachel Choate Martin, and formed as a group in the 90s in Detroit, US. They were a formidable production team with a strong Detroit following and a library of unreleased studio recordings.

One of these tracks was ‘Freak’ cut to a white label and featured the deep house rhythms and thumping bass of the time and Rachel’s recognisable vocal sound – a combination deserving airplay and new fans decades later, hence its inclusion on Danilo Plessow's fabric presents mix and its 2021 release on fabric Records as a standalone track.
